Frozen
Well, we made it back home! What a great trip. The holidays can be stressful, but it’s still nice to be able to get out, drive around the country, and visit with old friends and loving family.
Getting home was a little bit of an adventure. We found out on Saturday morning that TJ had taken our one set of car keys to Cincinnati with him the previous day. We had to have the yellow truck towed to the Ford dealership in Kirkwood and have them make a new set of keys for it. I just wanted to plug this dealership, because the guys were so great. They only had 3 people working that day, and a whole crowd of people wanting to get something done on their cars before the holiday. And still they managed to fit us in and be really good natured about it.
The next thing to worry about was the fact that due to the snow storm the previous week, I-70 was shut down through most of Kansas all the way until late Sunday night. Thankfully, when we left on Monday, the road was reopened, and well cleaned and melted. We hit about 45 miles of pretty icky road near Colby, again. I stopped again for some pics of the second round of ice storm. But the poor road conditions didn’t last long, and we were home later that evening.
Happy New Year to everybody (just a little late)!
Happy New Year, and welcome home!
Glad to hear you got back safely to the Frozen Plains. Oh, did I mention it’s really cold here? And by cold, I mean like 60 degrees.
And if you actually read this, let me know
